This Week

This week we explored our relationship with time and how this impacts our Health & Longevity journey.

Issue #229 - we’re operating at an unsustainable pace - we need to accept time is finite. For a balanced life - pay yourself first, tackle one major project, write down what will suck, keep a "done" list, and schedule time to do nothing.

Issue #230 - don’t live in the future! Many of us anticipate a time when we'll truly live, with more wealth, health, or family changes. But the future is uncertain. Seize the moment, act on priorities, and relish the mundane to make the most of each day.

Inspiration | Insights From Our Readers

Last week (Issue #226), we asked you all what was one thing you’ve learned from Thrive25.

Wow - what an incredible number of responses from so many of you!!

Here’s what we heard the most:

Top 10 Insights

Based on all the feedback - we compiled a list of 10 of the most common reflections of how and why you all value Thrive25, along with specific reader quotes.

1. REMINDER: Thrive25 is a top reminder to think about your health. Even on days you might not be able to read through the entire email, just getting it in your inbox 3x per week is enough to make different decisions throughout the day to be a little healthier today and for the future.

2. OUR POWER: Thrive25 shows how much power we have to “age intentionally.” We can control how we feel and not be beholden to how many birthdays we’ve celebrated.

3. OUR WHY: Thrive25 encourages us to think about why our health is so important and about how much we still want to do - that we’re never ready to slow down.

4. SIMPLE IS BETTER: Thrive25 highlights the quick wins we can do for our health. It doesn’t have to be complicated - things like nasal breathing, drinking more water, being more patient with our kids, getting more sleep. It’s about the next step, not the end result.

5. OUR BODY IS AMAZING: Thrive25 reminds us that our body is an absolute miracle. We need to treat it and fuel it the right way to take care of it so it will take care of us. It runs best when it’s not compromised by modern junk.

6. SCIENCE 101: Thrive25 digs into the science of how/why these habits affect our health. We don’t need to return to AP Biology class, but it’s important to better understand how our body works.

7. A 360° VIEW: Thrive25 shows that there’s much more to our health than just exercise. Our mind and body are all interconnected and we need to view our health across all aspects of our life.

8. BE CURIOUS: Thrive25 teaches us so much that we didn’t already know. It’s taken us down new rabbit holes to learn about everything from how much protein to eat (and the best types) to getting the best sleep routine.

9. CONNECTION WITH SELF: Thrive25 goes beyond just physical health. It makes us think about treating ourselves better - changing the tone of our inner voice and realizing that focusing on our health is the greatest gift we can give our mind and body.

10. CONNECTION WITH OTHERS: Thrive25 reinforces the need to reach out to friends and family and empowers us to share this information with them so they have the knowledge to optimize their own health.

Thrive25 Partner Spotlight

Omega-6 has exploded in our diets. Too much of it increases inflammation and the rates of the big 4 killers - heart disease, diabetes/obesity, cancer, neurodegenerative (brain) disease - plus, IBS and autoimmune disease.

The ideal ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 is less than 4:1 (see Issue #22 on Omega-3), but vegetable oils like soybean, corn, and safflower oil have ratios more like 75:1. Cultured oil from Zero Acre Farms has less than 3% omega-6 linoleic acid (olive oil is 10%).

You’re escaping a maze, and there are three doors in front of you. The door on the left leads to a pit of lava. The door in the center leads to a room filled with deadly gas. The door on the right leads to a lion that hasn’t eaten in three months. Which door do you choose?

The door on the right. A lion that hasn’t eaten in three months would be dead.
