Focus

Don’t Do It Alone

When we started this newsletter three years ago, longevity was still a niche word.

Now, it’s everywhere.

But at Thrive25, how we define it hasn’t changed:

  1. You wake up full of energy and complete mobility - your health isn’t holding you back from living your best life

  2. You prevent chronic disease from taking hold - staying strong for the next 25+ years

  3. You live with joy, purpose, and connection - making the most of this journey we’re all on together

The best protocol for longevity - the consistent daily habits that come from our 9 elements - positive mindset, real food, movement, quality sleep, strong connections, lots of laughs. But there’s one thing that we also need:

🧬 A complete understanding what’s going on inside your body.

Why We Avoid the Doctor (and Why It’s a Problem)

According to the Aflac Wellness Survey, 90% of people skip recommended appointments and screenings.

Here are the top four reasons we don’t go:

  1. “I feel fine.” If nothing hurts, nothing’s wrong. So we wait. Why waste time hearing a doctor confirm what we already believe?

  2. “I don’t want to know.” We have a fear deep down that something might be wrong. And if we don’t hear it, we don’t have to deal with it. (Ironically, for some this is the roadblock for someone who “feels fine”.)

  3. “Our healthcare doesn’t work.” We get it - long wait times, frustrating experiences. Why not just use Google, AI and Thrive25 for what we need to know?

  4. “I don’t have time.” This is actually the #1 blocker. Maybe we have to find a doctor, then schedule the appointment (weeks or months in advance), take time off work - it’s just a hassle. And is it worth it?

Answer: Yes! Skipping these appointments comes at a cost.

  • 50% of cancers are first caught in routine checkups

  • Breast cancer has a 99% survival rate if caught early - but just 31% if caught late (same with prostate cancer)

  • Detecting pre-diabetes early reduces all-cause mortality by at least 17%

🧠 These early wins are how we keep away what Dr. Peter Attia calls the “5 Deadly Horsemen”: heart disease, cancer, brain disease, metabolic dysfunction, and immune breakdown.

Maximizing longevity means NOT waiting to find out too late.

The Real Problem? Keeping Track of It All.

Even if you do go in for screenings, appointments, and tests…

Where do those results go?
Where are your notes from the specialist?
What did your bloodwork show last year?
Which supplement were you going to try?

Health data today is scattered across:

Why We Built This

When I turned 40, I realized I’d be 58 when my son graduates high school.
I needed to redefine what it meant to be on the doorstep of 60.

Because I still want to be:
🏀 Playing sports with him in college
🌄 Hiking mountains with my wife in our 60s
🌊 Surfing waves with my friends in our 70s

That’s my why.

You’ve got yours. You can include your goals in the Health Hub and never forget why you’re prioritizing your health.

That’s the point of all this - so you can continue to live your best life with the people you love for a long, long time.

Think

Where’s All Your Stuff?

Consider all the different health experts you work with or appointments you go to - primary care doc, dermatologist, gut health specialist, nutritionist, chiropractor, physical therapist, OB/GYN, urologist - the list goes on and on.

Where is all this stuff?

For me, it’s a headache just thinking about all this - not to mention insurance info, doctor contact info, the supplements I take (see previous issue). I live in spreadsheets and notes - and I’m still not getting a full picture of everything.

What would life be like if this was all neatly organized all together for you whenever you needed it?

Brain Games

Logic Equations

6 variables today - A, B, C, D, E and F - with six possible values - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. None of the variables can share the same number. Based on the following equations, what do the variables equal:

  1. A = 2B + E

  2. BE + F = C

  3. C = B + F

It’s been a few weeks - shake off the rust with some brute force logic. Get out the stop watch and see how fast you can solve!

** Brain Games Answer **

Answer: Yellow are the values for the variables. A=5, B=2, etc.

Why?…

  • For this puzzle, let’s look at both equations (2) and (3). Rearranging slightly, if C = BE + F and C = B + F, then E = 1

  • Now, check out equation (1), A = 2B + E. For A to be 6 or less (and E = 1), then B = 2. And if that’s true, then A = 5

  • In either equation (2) or (3), we know C = B + F (remember E = 1). So C = 2 + F. Because 1, 2 and 5 are accounted for, the only combo here is 4 and 6. So C = 6 and F = 4

  • 5 of 6 numbers are accounted for so D gets the scraps, D = 3
